The Pedestrian Essay

How did he do it
Tone character plot
                                                              The Pedestrian

The story about “THE PEDESTRIAN” by Ray Bradbury is a horror story about a man who goes out for a walk and gets introuboe or so that’s what it seems like at first. The pedestrian has a dark theme to it it dosnt clearly state the Stacey bits of the story you have to dig and use your own imagination to find them. The story has a tone, characters, and plot to it like any other story however the pedestrian uses these to tell a simple story on the surface but a story with a much more deeper meaning that what it seems like at first
The story starts off with a man going out for his daily walk in a city set in the future. Everything seems fine at first until you realized that the man is the only one “outside” he later gets stoped by the police and taken away and as the man gets taken away he sees people in their own little “jails” watching tv. Through the story Ray Bradbury wanted to express how technology is affecting people. He shows this through the story. The man in the story is the only person who is outside walking, everyone else is inside their home watching tv. Ray Bradbury clearly has a negative view towards the affect that technology is taking since he describes that the people watching tv are in “jails”. Bradbury wanted to express that people need to escape from their “jails” and actually go outside and enjoy life instead of just watching tv.
Bradbury most lily wrote this story through one of his experiences in life. Bradbury wrote the story When technology was still a new thing and people were captivated by it, this is also when people began to shift from being outside and adventurous to being enclosed in 4 walls watching tv.
Bradbury much has seen just how much technology was taking over, by people no longer going outside, the advancement in technology in cars and through these things that he witness he wrote a story predicting on how the world Couoh possibly end up if we don’t do anything about it
Bradbury manages to express the dark scary theme of the story  through the plot and tone of the story. Bradbury describes the world as a kind of dystopian type of world with no one outside other than the main character. This creates a scary, spooky theme. That plus the plot creates a kind of horror. The car that drives itself and everyone waching tv shows us how much technology has taken over.
Bradbury uses themes and setting to create a spooky environment and story. He manages to make a simple story about police officers arresting someone into a story with a deep meaning. Bradbury wrote this story a while ago and I believe that he was trying to warn us and let us know that technology was taking over and that we should not be mindcrontrolled by it, he wasn’t entirely wrong  as in present time people don’t really go out and hang out with thier friend outside. Instead they talk through a mic and play video games
