What’s in my big question for me?

My big question was about un-riped fruit. Growing up my mom always told me to not eat un ripe fruit because I would get sick and plants would grow in my stomach. The plant in stomach thing is obviously fake but I once did get Sick by eating a watermelon whole, green husk/shell included. It was also winter so Maby I just got a cold? Was it a coincidence? Or did I actually get sick from eating the bad parts of the fruit? The day in class when dr Preston asked us our big question I was eating an orange and I immediately thought of “dose eating un ripe fruit get you sick?” Learning from my big question will allow me to prove my mom right(or wrong) and will allow me to eat all fruits weather ripe or not
